How to Make Better Decisions During Team Fights
A team fight is a series of decisions: when to start it, who to attack, when to spend an ultimate, and when to walk away. Getting the timing right matters more than any single mechanical play.
Commit together or not at all
Staggered commitment is the most common way fights are lost. If your team is not moving with you, hold the angle and wait rather than starting it alone.
Target priority
- The enemy you can actually reach and kill quickly.
- The enemy who is out of position and away from support.
- The enemy whose presence is currently breaking your team's fight.
Reset instead of forcing
If the fight is lost, disengage while you still have most of your team alive. A clean reset with everyone alive is far stronger than a slow trickle into a lost point.
Ultimates are a team resource
One ultimate into a prepared enemy team usually accomplishes nothing. Say when yours is ready, pair it with a teammate's, and use it to start or close a fight — not to escape a mistake.
Common mistakes
- Walking in first because you are impatient.
- Chasing the enemy who is easiest to see rather than easiest to kill.
- Holding an ultimate until it is never used.
- Rejoining a lost fight one player at a time.
What to practice next
- For three games, never take first contact.
- Announce your ultimate before you use it.
- Practise calling one reset per game.
